DySP critical, six cops injured in Keran mishap | KNO

Kupwara, November 16 (KNO) : At least Seven Jammu and Kashmir cops including a Deputy Superintendent of Police were injured on Friday after the vehicle they were travelling in turned turtle in Keran sector of Kupwara district. Police officials told KNO that, DySP Bodh Raj of IR-4th Bn along with six others were travelling in a sumo, which turned turtle in the area falling along Line of control. Raj was airlifted to 92 Base Hospital, Badamibagh Cantonment, for advanced treatment. His condition is stated to be critical, officials said. Six other cops who sustained injuries have been identified as SgCt Majid Hussain (597/IRP-4th), SgCt. Irshad Ahmad, a telecom operator (2863/PW), Constable Sanjay (406/IRP-4th), constable Ramesh (789/IRP-4th) and Constable Khursheed Ahmad (1173/KP). Reports said that DySP along his team were on way to Keran from Machil for Panchayat Election duty in the area, which will commence from tomorrow.(KNO)
